Story
On Saturday 6th June 2026, Lesley and Lisa are taking on Scotland’s Tough Mudder… because apparently rowing, kayaking, and generally trying to keep fit and healthy just isn’t quite enough of a challenge for us!
This year’s Tough Mudder will see us tackling a 15km course packed with 20 obstacles, including ice-cold water, steep mud climbs, rope challenges, crawling through tunnels, electric shocks, and plenty of obstacles designed to test teamwork, strength, and determination. It’s safe to say it’s going to be tough… and very muddy!
We’re always up for trying something new, and this felt like the perfect opportunity to push ourselves (and probably fall over in the mud more than once) while raising money for something very close to our hearts — our amazing local leisure centre.
Lochalsh Leisure Centre is a real hub for the community, supporting people of all ages, from gym-goers to swimmers, and it would really benefit from some updated and additional equipment. We’re especially keen to help replace some of the older gym kit — particularly the dip station, which has definitely seen better days! Lisa has been working hard on her dips this year and is now challenging Lesley to give them a go too!
Our fundraising target is £2,000.
Here’s what your donations could help provide:
• £500 – replacement resistance bands and new (and heavier!) dumbbells
• £500 – wrist and ankle cuffs for water-based fitness classes
• £1,000 – a brand-new dip station
So, if you’d like to see us get completely covered in mud and make absolute fools of ourselves for a good cause, we’d be incredibly grateful for any donation, big or small.
We hope this gives people a laugh, maybe even inspires someone else to take on a challenge, and most importantly helps keep our community active, healthy, and having fun.
Please share our page, even if you’re not able to donate — every bit of support really helps.
