Story
I am fundraising for Beat, the UK's eating disorder charity. Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care.
These serious mental illnesses include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. 1.25 million people in the UK have a diagnosed eating disorder. They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and up to one in four sufferers are male. Eating disorders cost the UK's economy £16.8 billion each year.
There’s a wonderful art and photography exhibition currently running at Cleethorpes Library.
It features the debut exhibition of my friend’s mum’s paintings - an incredible milestone as she turns 92 this Thursday! Her son, Tim, is also showcasing archive photos of Cleethorpes, offering a nostalgic look at the area.
Tim kindly invited me and a couple of other friends to exhibit some of our photography as well.
All artwork and photos are available for purchase, with additional photography prints available on request.
This page is for those who want to donate to the charity & buy artwork.
Every penny raised will go to Beat Eating Disorders, a charity very close to the Whitley family’s heart.
We’ve already raised over £1,000 from sales at the opening on Saturday, 1st March.
The exhibition runs throughout most of March, so if you're in the area, please pop in and take a look.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
