Hello,

On Monday, two devastating earthquakes struck southern Turkey and north-west Syria. Thousands have been killed and injured, and many more have been displaced.On both sides of the border, buildings have collapsed and rescue efforts are underway to recover survivors from piles of rubble.

Lots of cities are impacted but the lack of logistics and winter weather conditions are making things really tough for people to help or get essentials to those who need them.

Being Turkish, this feels very close to home and I feel helpless while witnessing what's going on. The one thing I can do to help, is to fundraise so that we can help local teams take care of those people who are most affected in the region.

Importantly, while Turkey has the backing of so many western countries, the situation in Syria is much worse. The earthquake will cause further displacement for people fleeing war in Syria: a country already devastated by 12 years of destruction.
