On the 4th of October, the two of us will be running the Manchester half marathon to raise £600 for Europia

Europia supports European migrant communities by providing advice on immigration, housing, employment, and access to public services. It also offers English language classes, wellbeing and mental health support, skills training, and community activities that help people integrate, build confidence, and participate fully in life in the UK.

It's an important charity to us as after the war in Ukraine broke out, Ukrainian children started attending local secondary schools. In order to help them integrate into our society, we hosted music classes, communication workshops and gardening classes to help build their confidence. It was so fulfilling seeing them grow into young adults using the skills and attributes we taught them. We talked to them, listened to their stories, and got an image of their everyday life which was a far reality from ours.
