Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my London Marathon 2025 JustGiving page for Epilepsy Action.
As a lot of you may already know, last year was incredibly difficult, losing my Dad and then being hospitalised with a severe infection meant that I had to pull out of the 2024 London Marathon. I am now back in training and looking forward to taking on the challenge for April 2025.
Epilepsy Action is an amazing charity that works to improve awareness, provides support and campaigns to improve epilepsy services.
My partner Becky was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 16 after experiencing a seizure out of the blue. After years of trying to understand and manage her condition, experiencing regular seizures, she's been lucky enough to get control of her condition with the right medication. Having limited awareness of epilepsy prior to meeting Becky, I've since learnt a lot about it from her and her family. I've seen how it affects not just an individuals life, but their family and friends. So it's important for me to raise awareness of this condition.
Epilepsy affects 1 in every 100 people in the UK and 87 people are diagnosed with this condition every day. Each year, Epilepsy Action directly helps around 2 million people and over 95% of the support provided is funded by donations and fundraising.
I would really appreciate if you could take 5 minutes to have a look at their website, whether that's seeing how they provide support or finding out what to do if someone has a seizure. https://www.epilepsy.org.uk/
Any donations would be extremely appreciated! I will keep everyone updated with my marathon training and thank you again for taking the time to read this and for all the support.
