3 Peaks fundraiser for Alzheimer's Society

Lewis Openshaw is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

National 3 Peaks · 19 June 2025

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am raising money for Alzheimer's Society as Alzheimer's is something that as a family we have experienced for the past decade, my Grandad suffered with Alzheimer's for 7 years until he past away in 2018 and now my dad has been living with this for the past 3 years. Therefore I would like to do something that could help the Alzheimer's community.

The reason for choosing the National 3 peaks as a way to rise money is because my dads passion in life has been climbing and mountaineering. In 2005 he walked up Kilimanjaro for charity himself, this was one of his many global adventures.

The normal 3 Peaks is usually done within 24 hours however we are going to do them over 3 days, so say good bye to heating, the shower, etc. We will camp the night before we walk each peak and live off a camping stove in true outdoor style.
