I'm raising funds to support Hull Hospitals’ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Lewis Porteous is raising money for WISHH (Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals)
The Hull Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Hull NICU) cares for over 500 premature babies every year. Funds raised will help enhance the unit above and beyond what the NHS can achieve alone.

Story

I'm raising money for Hull NICU and Transitional Care to give back to the absolute saints who cared for my wife, my twin girls, and me during our 13-day stay when they were born. I called it “baby boot camp” at the time, but the truth is, the staff went above and beyond to give our girls the best possible start in life. As they now approach their first birthdays, I’m more grateful than ever for the kindness, skill, and dedication we were shown during what those closest to me know was a very tough time. This fundraiser is my way of saying thank you — and helping ensure other families receive that same incredible support when they need it most.

Hull Neonatal Intensive Care Unit cares for over 500 premature babies each year. Some stay for just hours or days, while others remain for weeks or even months. Hull is one of four Level 3 NICUs within the Yorkshire and Humber region, offering specialist intensive care for babies from 22 weeks gestation — both locally and across the country.

The funds I raise will help enhance the unit for the benefit of premature babies and their families, providing those all-important extras that go above and beyond what the NHS can deliver alone. Together, we can help make a real difference for parents during one of the most vulnerable times of their lives.

Thank you so much for your support.
