Story

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. Unfortunately for our family and his two children my big brother Luke was one of those statistics. As a human he was a larger than life character and someone that was at the epicentre of our familes laughter and certainly our mealtimes. Unfortunately though, this came crashing down in 2020 when he suddenly died of a heart complication. I hope by completing the London Marathon in his memory that I can raise as much money as possible to support Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in order to help prevent another avoidable death and therefore a family having to go through the incredible pain we did, and still go through today. CRY complete some incredible work and any kind of donation will genuinely go direct to supporting families to help prevent this from occurring to someone else. Thank you to you all for spending your hard earned money to support me during my run and CRY!

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk .
