Story

Hi everyone,
On Saturday 3rd October, I'm stepping into the ring for a Charity Boxing event; something that me and the other competitors have never done before. I'm doing it to raise money for Saint Mary's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Manchester.
For the next 7 weeks I'll be in a boxing bootcamp, training from scratch with several punishing boxing & fitness sessions a week. I'm sure this isn't enough to make me not look like a complete fool on the night, but I live in hope.
Saint Mary's teams deliver over 13,000 babies a year. They carry out 1,400 surgical procedures. They support 120,000 outpatient and antenatal appointments. And they provide intensive care for 2,600 sick newborn babies, fighting for the smallest, most fragile lives from the moment they're born.
Several people in our boxing group, including some of the coaching team, have strong personal connections to Saint Mary's and the work they do. Hearing what some families go through, at what should be one of the happiest times of their lives, is heart-wrenching. Anything we can do to support the teams delivering that care will make a real difference.
Every pound raised helps fund the equipment, care, and support that gives these babies, and their families, a fighting chance.
I'm asking you to donate whatever you can to support this great cause. Any donation, big or small, makes a difference.
