The Halo Project is a specialist domestic abuse and sexual violence charity that supports Black and minoritised women and girls aged 17+ to escape abuse, including hidden harms such as forced marriage, honour-based abuse, and female genital mutilation.

Story

This year I have decided to book a half iron man to test myself and to raise as much money in the process towards the Halo Project a charity operating in Middlesborough.

The Halo project are a wonderful team whos focus is on protecting Black and Minoritised women and girls in the local community. Their aim is to eliminate forced marriage, FGM, honour based violence and to help those vulnerable women and children at risk of domestic, sexual abuse and violence.

Since starting up 12 years ago they have supported over 3000 women from 49 different ethnicities and have helped to support and empower them to live lives free from abuse.

Recently through a loved one I have become aware of just some of these issues and the impacts that they can have. So supporting the halo project, whom by no coincidence are literal angels, is very close to my heart.

Any donation, however small, that you can make to help them, and to help me and my sore body through all the training and race day is gonna do so much good!
