Story
In September 2024, Lewis was suddenly taken ill by a rare and aggressive condition known as bilateral pulmonary thromboembolic disease - a severe form of blood clot that blocks the arteries in the lungs. Lewis fell ill at 9am and tragically passed away later that afternoon at around 4pm, he was 18 years old.
A former student at East Bergholt High School, Lewis was a quiet and dependable person who went through school his own way at his own pace. A kind, honest and laid back boy, he took everything in his stride, normally while wearing those big chunky boots! Lewis was that consistent, steady and loyal character for friends and family and will be missed by all that knew him. He always gave the feeling that everything’s going to be ‘alright’.
In memory of Lewis, I would like to raise money and awareness for Thrombosis UK .
I am raising awareness because I know the pain of that loss. We couldn't save my brother and that heartbreaking grief will stay with me forever. But if speaking up helps even one family recognise the warning signs in time, then maybe we can save your loved one. I know that is what Lewis would have wanted.
All donations will go to Thrombosis UK who are working tirelessly to save lives and prevent suffering caused by blood clots.
