Excited to announce that I've secured a place in the Marathon des Sables Legendary 2026!

Next April, I'll be heading to the scorching Sahara Desert to take on this grueling ultra-marathon, all while raising crucial funds and awareness for Walkoncemore, a charity dedicated to funding cutting-edge research into a cure for chronic spinal cord injuries (SCI). This will be the most challenging event I've ever faced, but I'm excited for the journey ahead and hope you’ll support me as I prepare!

The Marathon des Sables is a nine-day, six-stage, 250 km (155 mile) ultra-marathon—equivalent to 6 regular marathons! I'll be crossing varied terrains, from sand dunes and salt flats, to mountains and rocks. To up the ante, I'll carry all of my supplies on my back, including food, cooking gear, sleeping bag, clothes, and essential survival items. It's often called the toughest footrace on Earth, and I'm definitely starting to understand why!

With every gruelling step, I'm aiming to raise vital funds & awareness for Walkoncemore (WOM). Every limitation of my physical and mental resilience will be tested, but I'm under no illusion that this still does not compare to how tough daily life is for the millions of people affected by SCI around the World. It is a truly devastating condition, with up to 500,000 new cases reported annually - something which could afflict any one of us, at any time. Luckily, a cure is achievable, and WOM are resolute in doing all they can to ensure this becomes a reality as soon as possible.
