Lift For Lexie's fundraiser for Women in Sport

Lift For Lexie X is raising money for Women in Sport
In memory of Lexie Hadfield

Weightlifting · 1 August 2026

Women and girls are missing out on the lifelong benefits of sport. We want to change this, now, for every woman and girl in the UK. From championing equality to using our insight to deliver new projects, we want to transform sport from the field of play to the board room. Are you in?

Story

Lexie was passionate. About her family, her friends, and the gym. The gym wasn’t somewhere Lexie just went to exercise. It was a place that gave her confidence, purpose, friendships, and was one of the many parts of Lexie that turned her into the incredible and strong woman that we all knew so well and love.

Lexie knew from first hand experience how transformative strength training could be, both physically and mentally. From this, Lexie truly believed that strength training was for everyone, regardless of age or gender. But nothing brought more joy to Lexie in the gym than seeing a strong woman on the bench press, or pulling a heavy deadlift, or just pushing themselves to see how capable they truly were.

Whether she was training herself, encouraging others, or celebrating someone else’s achievements, Lexie always wanted people to see what they were capable of.

Those of us who knew Lexie will always remember her kindness, her determination, her sense of humour, and the way she could make you feel so welcome, comfortable, and inspired ‘to try.’ Lexie’s laugh would truly fill the gym when she was there, and you couldn’t help but smile.

Lexie passed away on December 17th, 2025, from sepsis. She was beautiful both inside and out. But Lift for Lexie is not about her death, it’s about her life.

Lift for Lexie exists not only because she needs to be remembered, but also because her impact deserves to be continued.

On 1st August 2026, friends, family, gym members, and the wider community will come together for a charity strength day in memory of Lexie Hadfield.

The day will feature bench press and deadlift competitions, exhibition lifters, sponsored challenges, prizes, food, and more, all while raising money for Women in Sport and The UK Sepsis Trust.
