Story
In February 2011, Lawyers for Justice in Libya (LFJL) was born out of a transformative moment for Libya. 15 years on, we continue to respond to the realities on the ground by challenging injustice, corruption, and violence in Libya.
On our 15th anniversary, we are calling on you to join us to continue standing with victims and civil society across Libya. A supporter of LFJL has committed to match donations we receive if we are able to raise £15,000 by 15 April. Support us now and your donation will be doubled when we reach our target together!
Your contribution will go a long way in helping us build on our work over the last 15 years, including:
Strengthening Libya’s civil society to build movements for transformative change
Supporting victims of human rights abuses, including migrants and refugees, to access justice
Tackling corruption to address daily injustices in Libya
Addressing the knowledge deficit on Libya, producing groundbreaking research
Every contribution has impact:
£10 - £100 helps us and our partners to document, investigate and verify human rights cases, ensuring victims’ experiences are documented, preserved and stored in LFJL’s Archive and used for accountability
£100 - £300 gives human rights defenders access to LFJL’s Adala Academy, our online human rights training platform, and one to one mentoring
£300 - £500 allows us to support direct victim participation in, and attendance of, relevant judicial proceedings
£500 – £750 helps cover legal and administrative costs required to pursue litigation and facilitate victims’ access to justice.
£750 - £1000 contributes to medical care and psychosocial support.
£1000 - £2000 contributes to the protection of human rights defenders at risk and in need of relocation through LFJL’s Ali Nouh Fund.
Your contribution, whatever the size, matters and will help us to advance transformative and holistic justice in Libya.
