Story
I’m excited to share that I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2026 for Breast Cancer Now!
Breast Cancer Now provided support and resources that I personally relied on, and I’m so grateful for the work they do.
In November 2024, shortly after turning 25, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Since then, my life has been filled with hospital appointments and conversations I never expected to have at my age. I’ve undergone a lumpectomy, IVF for egg preservation, genetic testing, six rounds of intense chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, and more recently started hormone replacement therapy.
I am very fortunate that my cancer was caught early, and I’m proud to say I’m now cancer free. I kept my journey private during treatment, but I’m sharing it now to raise awareness; especially for younger women. I found a small marble-like lump under the surface of the skin but please also be aware of other symptoms: https://breastcancernow.org/about-breast-cancer/awareness/signs-and-symptoms-of-breast-cancer
At a young age it’s easy to dismiss the possibility of Breast Cancer, but if sharing my story encourages even one person to be more vigilant, it’s worth it.
After chemotherapy, I was the most unfit I’ve ever been. Once I was cleared to exercise, I set myself this challenge. I’ve never been a runner, so this half marathon feels particularly significant!
Any donations would be hugely appreciated. Thank you 🩷
