At Easter this year, Aengus Stewart, a friend of ours — and a close friend of our wives' family — was taken by Motor Neurone Disease at the age of just 55.

In Aengus's memory, and to help the battle against this merciless disease, we're taking part in the Moylagh JFK 50-Mile Challenge — a one-day 50-mile/80km walk around the beautiful Irish counties of Meath, Cavan and Westmeath. He was an active man who loved the outdoors, so this event seems apt.

The money raised will go to the MND Association, whose focus is on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
