Story
This year, the MDS Charity Walk returns on Saturday 20th September 2025, and we will doing a 10-mile hike through the beautiful Peak District.
We are walking to raise awareness of Cauda Equina Syndrome. Every penny raised will go to the Cauda Equina Champions Charity, helping them continue their vital work.
Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) is a rare but serious condition where the nerve roots at the bottom of the spinal cord, known as the cauda equina, are compressed or damaged. This compression can disrupt the signals to and from the legs, bladder, and bowel, potentially leading to bladder and bowel dysfunction, as well as numbness or weakness in the legs and around the genitals.
Cauda Equina Champions Charity is a patient-led organization supporting those with the condition. Working alongside people living with CES, we aim to raise awareness of Cauda Equina Syndrome, support our CES community and provide bespoke rehabilitation services for people after injury.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps support this amazing charity—thank you for being part of the journey.
