Story
On June 22, Liam King and Johnathan Devereux will run the Hardwolds Trail Ultra Marathon in order to raise funds for M.A.S.H. (Military Assistance Social Hub).
At DST (Defence School of Transport), M.A.S.H is an amazing charitable organisation that gives so much to our families. Their tireless efforts and unselfish dedication to strengthening family ties have helped so many of our families. Our family-friendly events would not have been possible without M.A.S.H which includes Jump Inc, bowling, Williams Den, and an incredible weekend of glamping at Kingfisher Lake are just a few of the many activities we have had the pleasure of participating in.
The ultra consists of:
-49 miles
-4600m Elevation
-The Hardwolds 40 route begins in Beverley and travels along the Hudson Way before meeting the Wolds Way just outside of Goodmanham. Except for a diversion into the village of Millington, the route stays on the Wolds Way. After briefly retracing our steps by taking the Minster Way through Millington, the route heads back onto the Wolds Way, passing through Fridaythorpe, Thixendale and the abandoned mediaeval village of Wharram Percy. Afterward, the Wolds Way ends near Settrington Beacon, and we descend into Settrington to rejoin the Centenary Way, which leads to Malton and the finish line of the race.
