On September 5th this year I will be taking part in Ultra X Slovenia, a 110km alpine-style ultramarathon in Western Slovenia, with the aim of raising money for Motiv8, a local charity very close to my heart.

Motiv8 Addiction Services is a charity based on the Isle of Man providing a range of support services to help individuals impacted by different forms of addiction since 1978. Motiv8 provides crucial support to those in need and who often don’t know where else to turn. Their work helps transform lives, helps people through very difficult situations and aims to remove the stigma associated with addiction. Motiv8 provide such important support and intervention to those dealing with and recovering from addiction themselves as well as providing such effective support services for their families. Motiv8 also provide educational workshops in secondary schools across the island.
