Liam's fundraiser for Ataxia UK

Liam Prior is raising money for Ataxia UK

Walking for Ataxia

10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Liam sustained a traumatic brain injury many years ago, and his journey since has been one of determination, resilience, and incredible strength. Through years of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy, he has worked tirelessly to rebuild his independence. Living with ataxia as a result of his brain injury means that even everyday tasks—like walking—can be a challenge. Despite this, Liam continues to push himself, always striving to improve his mobility and maintain his independence.

He has set himself a personal goal to walk 100,000 steps — a challenge that represents just how far he has come. What motivates him even more is the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for ataxia along the way.

Now, Liam wants to give something back. By taking on this challenge, he hopes to raise awareness of ataxia and support others facing similar struggles. Every step he takes is hard-earned — and every donation will help make a difference
