Story
On 18 October 2026, I will be taking on the Yorkshire Marathon to raise money and awareness for Action for Stammering Children.
Action for Stammering Children is the UK's charity for children and young people who stammer, their families, and the communities who support them. Their mission is to ensure that every child who stammers has the support, respect, and confidence to live the life they want to lead. They do this by supporting families and professionals, championing research, and campaigning for positive changes in policy and public understanding of stammering.
This cause is very close to my heart because I have lived with a stammer from a young age. Growing up, I was fortunate to receive support from a speech therapist, which helped build my confidence and gave me valuable tools to communicate more effectively. While that support made a huge difference, stammering is still something I face and work through every day.
I know first-hand how challenging it can be for a child or young person to find their voice and confidence when living with a stammer. That's why I want to give back and help ensure that other children have access to the support and encouragement they need to thrive.
By running the Yorkshire Marathon, I hope not only to raise vital funds but also to increase awareness and understanding of stammering. Every child deserves the opportunity to be heard, respected, and supported.
Please donate what you can to support this incredible charity. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help make a difference to the lives of children and young people who stammer. If you're unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
