Story
in 2017 after a short battle with cancer, my Dad, Keith (Pops) passed away and our lives were shattered.
The best Dad & Pops that anyone could wish for. My best mate who adored his grandchildren more than life.
After a tough journey through hospitals and finally getting a diagnosis, he found peace in St John’s to spend his final weeks. I don’t think we’d have got those final weeks with him without this unbelievable place and the nurses who supported him and us as a family. We saw him smile and enjoy a Whiskey again. They were the greatest comfort and support and our family can never thank them enough. Proved that angels live around us every day.
Then 4mths later We lost our Grand, the head of Dave’s family and everyone’s hero. Hospice at home provided support and care that made the hardest time that little bit lighter and we are so grateful for those nurses who helped our Grand and family.
So I’m running the London Marathon!! I hate running and will probably never run again after it but that’s why I’m doing it, because if people like this - our hospice heroes who gave Dad & Grand the care they deserved can get up everyday and keep going for us then I can run a ‘few’ miles for them to ensure other families can get the same help.
I’m fortunate to have been offered a charity place which meant the world to me to honour my Dad & Grands memory so please donate - it’s a big target but nothing in comparison to the difference they made to our lives and what they need to keep the doors open to help other families too
Wirral Hospice St John's relies on donations and fundraising activities to help the charity keep caring for patients and their loved ones at a time of most need. Thank you for your kind support.
Pops - To the world you may be one person, but to this one person, you are the world 💙 Love you to the moon and back, forever & always
Grand - Who loves ya baby - We do ❤️
