Every year I say “never again,” especially having to tackle all the hills,

but here I am—taking on the Carten challenge once more! I’ll be cycling approximately 110 miles from Cardiff to Tenby in the Carten on Saturday, 10th May and this will be my sixth time… in my sixth decade!

I feel incredibly fortunate to be healthy enough to do this, especially as two of my closest friends—both dedicated teachers—are currently facing their own challenges . They’re receiving vital care and support from Velindre Cancer Centre. Sadly, I’ve also lost two other dear friends, also teachers and far too young, to this cruel disease.

Personally, I am very grateful for the care and support Velindre has given to my family, especially to my father during the last days of his life.

That’s why this year, I’m riding not just for the challenge, but to raise funds for Velindre Cancer Care. If you’re able to support me with a donation, no matter how small, I would be truly grateful!
