Story
As many of you know I suffer from a serious spinal condition called Spondylolisthesis, this is basically when one of your Vertebrae in your spine slips. The severity of the slip is graded 1-5, 1 being a slight movement to 5 being a full slippage where the upper Vertebrae completely falls off the one below, so the spine is split into 2 pieces, this is called Spondyloptosis, and is very rare... and obviously because I'm a massive show off this is the one I have 🤣 Grade 5, full slip.
It happened when i was 14 and completely turned my world upside down. No more dancing, netball, hockey, running or even P.E lessons. At first I just thought I had pulled my back, I couldn't bend forwards at all. Had an x-ray and saw a spinal specialist, his exact words looking at the x-ray was 'Oh my God, dramatic' ... (suits me doesn't it 🤣) Lots of MRI scans later, there was nothing that could be done. Surgery was far too dangerous and likely to cause paralysis. I was told to treat my back like an eggshell, never work, couldn't carry children.
That sounded extremely boring. Not the kids part, luckily I don't have a maternal bone in my body 🤣 Instead I steadily built up my fitness, I've worked full time since I was 17, most days in searing agony to be honest. But now it has all paid off, my spine seems to have fused itself, the pain is sooo much better and life is good 💗
So obviously after 2 glasses of fizz a month ago dickhead here decided to apply to take part in this year's Great North Run as a charity place for Spinal Research. All spaces were full... thank god 🤣 Then 2 days ago I got a call to say a space had opened up 😳 Now here we are, i'm terrified and I need to learn to walk REALLY fast in 9 weeks time.... Also if you could spare even just £1 to help me raise my £300 target for Spinal Research it would be so appreciated. I know how hard times are for everyone so even just sharing my Just Giving link is a huge help! It's an absolutely amazing charity 💗 Pray for me everyone... also if anyone could teach me how to jog a bit? That would be great 😁🤣 Lil xx
