In 2021, I was diagnosed with the BRCA 2 mutation. At the time I have no clue what it was and why it was me who had it. In time, after reading different blogs, listening to different podcasts and doing my own research, I accepted this and changed my whole lifestyle. My sister Leigh, was also diagnosed with the BRCA 2 gene at the same time as me. In February, my amazing sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I wanted to raise even more awareness for this mutation and donate to a charity who are there for people to read blogs, go to events, and offer an ear to listen to when you are going through such a difficult time, also to raise awareness to people who have never heard of it. I am going to be walking 10,000 steps a day and also completing 10K run over each week for the month of June- fitness has become such an outlet for me to deal with my emotions and what better way to raise money for a great charity.
