Campaign by Maggie's Centres (RCN SC024414)
Strictly Maggie's is based on BBC's favourite TV show Strictly Come Dancing. There will be amazing participants partnered with a professional dancer, they will take to the dance floor to be crowned 'Strictly Maggie’s Champion 2024'.

Story

I'm taking part in the "Strictly Maggie's 2024" dance competition in memory of my brave and much loved husband Ken Catherall.

Strictly Maggie's is a charity fundraising event in the style of tv's Strictly Come Dancing that raises much needed funds and creates awareness for the amazing work of Maggie's Wirral.

My involvement with Maggie's began in August 2022 on a day that our world was turned upside down by Ken's shock bowel cancer diagnosis...stage 4 and very aggressive, we were totally devastated and didn't know what to do or what the future would be like...so we turned to Maggie's for support at one of the most difficult times of our lives, and we were so grateful that this fantastic resource was there for us when we needed it...they gave us practical advice and emotional support, and at times an escape from the chaos that cancer brought to our lives.

Sadly, Ken's cancer was very advanced and his chemotherapy was not effective... he passed away in September 2023.

I'd be so grateful for any donation amount you can spare and honoured if you'd like to come and support me and all of the other participants on 17th November 2024 at the Titanic Hotel,Liverpool. 💃🏾🎶🧡

At Maggie’s we help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, with professional support for anything from treatment side effects to money worries. Our support is free, & no appointment or referral is needed. Funding will help us to continue to provide our blend of emotional & practical support for everyone who needs it on the Wirral. We receive no government funding and are proud of the strong community of people who support our centre with fundraising.
