We’re here to inform, support and advocate for everyone affected by pregnancy loss. Miscarriage, ectopic and molar pregnancy can be a deeply distressing and difficult experience, and everyone who experiences pregnancy loss and its impact should get the understanding, care and support they need.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was 12 weeks pregnant when we found out that our baby had stopped developing and they placed the time frame around 8 weeks. We’d gone in a few days before the dating scan because I was experiencing some slight bleeding. On the 31st August, around I miscarried the pregnancy at home. We ended up in A&E after an awful lot of bleeding, leaving the foetus at home. After taking the foetus to the Early Pregnancy Unit the next day for genetic testing, we received a call weeks later from the recurrent loss clinic about the genetic tests. However, we were told there was no foetal matter identified. 100% clear as anything there was a very recognisable foetus that was handed over and expected the hospital to look after our baby until it made its journey to the burial ground.

Eventually we were told that histology (I think) had no record of receiving a foetus and finally that the hospital are ‘unable to ascertain where the baby is’.

My fight now is to raise awareness and fight for hospitals to change their processes so that this never happens to anyone else.

I am fundraising for The Miscarriage Association by walking 29km at the end of March.

Whilst trying to fight for change I have documented my story on youtube https://youtu.be/AFKbQQu_-lY?si=8oTPaXJi8HleX6gu

Also I am posting on TikTok the training & the walk in the hope of telling my story, changing things and letting people know they are not alone if they have ever been through something similar. https://www.tiktok.com/@lifewithfliss?_t=ZG-8tVRZmls0yO&_r=1
