Story
I've decided to trek from the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse to the Todhead lighthouse. This 500+ mile trek across the picturesque Scottish coast and countryside will take two and a half months to complete.
Scottish Peatland Protection & Restoration
Scotland’s peatlands are not only home to some of the country’s most rare and threatened species, they also provide a lifeline in fighting our twin biodiversity and climate crises. Peat soils cover more than 20% of Scotland and store around 1600 million tonnes of carbon. However, it is estimated that over 80% of Scotland’s peatlands are degraded. Can you help the Scottish Wildlife Trust to protect and restore these unique habitats?
- £25 could help dam two drains to rewet blanket bog
- £50 could provide five metres of fencing to enable low density conservation grazing
- £75 could provide valuable PPE for our team of volunteers
- £175 could go towards installing boardwalks to protect fragile bogs
Any donations would be greatly appreciated - thank you!
