Story
Team Lightship will be taking part in the World's Toughest Row Atlantic 2024 rowing 3000 nautical miles from La Gomera in the Canaries to Antigua in the Caribbean in December 2024. During our preparation and row, we hope to raise funds in aid of Epilepsy Action.
One half of the pair has a daughter diagnosed and affected by epilepsy, making this charity very close to our hearts. We aim to use our row as a platform to support and raise essential funds for all the wonderful work they do.
Epilepsy Action is the UK’s biggest community of people who want a better future for people affected by epilepsy. Their expert advice helps people affected by epilepsy to understand the condition and take a more active role in their own care and treatment. The charity offers free vital services such as their Freephone helpline, website, local Talk and Support groups around the UK, e-learning courses, and their Befriending service. The charity’s freephone helpline is a vital service, with trained advisors who provide much-needed advice and support for people affected by epilepsy when they need it most.
Some of Epilepsy Action’s work also includes campaigning for better healthcare services so that people with epilepsy have the support they need to manage their condition. The charity is committed to raising awareness and understanding of epilepsy and improving public attitudes to create a better, fairer future for people with epilepsy. How your support helpsAs a charity, Epilepsy Action is completely reliant on fundraising and donations for the money they need to run the services they provide for people with epilepsy. Quite simply the support Epilepsy Action provides to people affected by epilepsy would not be possible without the generosity of people fundraising and donating. A donation to Epilepsy Action will help fund the charity’s work so that they can continue to be there for everyone who needs their support.
‘registered charity in England and Wales (No. 234343)’.
