Story
Every two hours, someone in the UK becomes paralysed. This staggering statistic is not just a number—it represents real people whose lives are changed forever. Globally, an estimated 15.4 million people are living with paralysis, each facing unique challenges that go far beyond the inability to walk. A spinal cord injury can affect movement, sensation, continence, breathing, and so much more.
At Spinal Research, there is a strong belief that paralysis can be cured—regardless of when the injury occurred or where in the world it happened. The mission is driven by hope, determination, and the urgent need to transform lives.
As someone who works closely with patients living with spinal injuries, I see firsthand the immense challenges they face every day, as well as the strength and resilience they show. This is why I am personally fundraising for Spinal Research: because I believe that together, we can change the story for millions of people worldwide.
To support this cause, I am taking on the Berlin Marathon in 2025. This challenge is not just about running 26.2 miles—it’s about pushing myself for a cause that matters deeply to me and the patients.
But I cannot do this alone. Your support is vital in driving the research that could restore independence, dignity, and hope to those affected by paralysis.
Please join me in this fight. Every contribution brings us one step closer to a cure. Together, we can create a future where paralysis is no longer a life sentence.
