Story
In March 2025, our wonderful Nan was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She is the heart and soul of our family and a much-loved figure in our local community — always full of warmth, stories, and laughter. We’ve been lucky to catch it in the early stages, which means we have time to make memories, but it’s still a difficult and emotional journey.
That’s why we are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in 2026, raising money for Dementia UK — a charity doing vital work to support families affected by dementia and fund crucial research. Every donation, big or small, will help provide specialist support and move us closer to better treatments, and one day, a cure.
Please donate if you can — and help us run this race for our Nan, and for everyone affected by dementia.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
