Story
On Sunday 26 April I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group (GDWG).
GDWG provides emotional and practical support to people held in immigration detention at Tinsley House and Brook House, near Gatwick Airport. Their vision is a society where everyone, regardless of their immigration status, is treated with humanity and justice by all. GDWG provide clothing packs, phone credit and advocacy support to those who need it and continue to support people after detention to rebuild their lives. Through the national advocacy project, Refugee Tales, they support people with lived experience of detention to share their stories to raise awareness and call for a future without detention.
I'm so grateful for any donations - I'm certain they'll make the long, tough miles so much easier to take on. If you can't donate, please do share the page with anyone who might be interested in supporting this charity, which is so important to me and which does such important work. And if you can think of a great running song that I can add to my playlist, please send it my way! Thank you! 👣 💙
