1 in 4 women experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. I became one of those women. For 5 years I was abused financially, emotionally and physically. After my baby and I left the situation, the abuse didn’t stop. If it weren’t for Women’s Aid, I don’t know where my son and I would be. I have spent the last 2 years recovering and simply could not be an able parent or have a fulfilling life now if they did not help me.
