Vicky's Marathon for Spinal Injuries Association

SIA London Marathon 2024 · 2 May 2023 to 2 September 2024 ·
Our serious injury Partner, Vicky Blodwell, is running the London Marathon this year to raise funds and awareness for the Spinal Injuries Association! Hear from Vicky below:
"The secret is officially now out! On 21st April 2024, I will be taking the baton from Martin Usher (2023) and Tony Hannington (2022) and running the London Marathon to raise funds for the Spinal Injuries Association. In doing so, I will be joining 1% of the population that has run a marathon.
50,000 people are living with a spinal cord injury in the UK. Every 4 hours a person’s life is changed when they sustain a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone; it does not discriminate.
What would you do if you sustained a spinal cord injury? Where would you turn for support, for hope?
Well, I would contact the SIA!
The SIA are the experts, guiding voice for life after spinal cord injury. The charity aims to reach everyone with a spinal cord injury, to tackle whatever barriers they face, and to connect them with the support, guidance and advice that they need to be able to live a fulfilled life, doing whatever they want to do, when they want to do it. They challenge and break down barriers, encouraging others to do the same.
However, they need funds to continue to do this.
I am incredibly privileged to be able to run the marathon and would be very grateful if you would make a donation to support this inspirational charity to enable them to continue to do transformational work to support those with spinal cord injury.
