If you have been following me for a while, you will know that I volunteer every year for Crisis during the festive break. Such initiatives should not exist, but alas they do, and the least I can do is offer my time for a cause which is important to me. The scheme helps to provide homeless people with a chance to get off the streets, and also company and support, during what is often a very difficult and lonely time for many. With the cost of living crisis affecting us all, the least fortunate in society are paying the biggest price, with little support from the government to keep them safe and offering them the dignity they deserve. As usual, I will be volunteering at a day centre for five days. Just to add if you have never done it, would strongly recommend doing a couple of days of volunteering, it’s life changing.
