Every parent has that one moment in their lifetime, that they will never forget. For me it was February 2012, my beautiful 21 year old daughter came into my bedroom that night and told me that she needed me to call 911 as she attempted to take her life. As I followed the ambulance, might thought was is this the last time I would see my sweet girl again? Due to the wonderful doctors she survived. As she laid in her hospital room, I thought how can this be happening, what signs did I miss? How could I not know how bad she thought her life was that in order to free herself of the hurting and dark thoughts, suicide was the only way out. I am happy to say with love, support and the help of her beloved Chestnut horse, she is healthy and happy. I wish everyone who has been affected by mental illness and suicide gets the outcome that my daughter had.
