Story
Hello there!
The mighty Jacobs Media Events Team is taking a break from the razzle dazzle of organising awards nights and striding into action – literally – by walking the length of the Victoria line in support of the Woman’s Trust. That’s 16 station, 16+ miles, and absolutely zero help from the Tube.
We’ll be starting north, taking in the hipster cafes of Walthamstow, before making our way past Tottenham and Highbury (with a view of the Emirates for our resident Arsenal fan), then on to the chaos of Oxford Circus with a detour past the office for some hopeful words of encouragement, finally ending amongst the colourful (and questionable) buzz of Brixton, where we’re assured there’ll be a 2 for 1 offer on cocktails waiting for us.
All this to raise money for an amazing cause – Woman’s Trust – a charity which helps women in London overcome the mental and emotional harm of domestic violence and abuse. 1 in 4 women is expected to experience some form of domestic abuse in their lifetime, and for the first time this year, female deaths by suicide because of domestic abuse outnumber those who are killed by their abusers. Woman’s Trust work to provide counselling and therapy for victims to address the psychological trauma caused by violent, coercive, or controlling relationships.
We chose this charity because we passionately believe in the work they do and based in the city we live, work in and love.
We very much appreciate all your support and every contribution will make a difference. We will also love you forever.
Help us turn the Victoria Line into the Victory Line for Woman’s Trust!
With love from
