Transforming our care of the elderly ward by providing a homely, calm and relaxing environment which supports all patients particularly those with dementia.

Story

On the 14th February my colleague and friend Julie Sadler had a Brain Aneurysm and is currently being cared for by the neuro criticalcare team , Julie has dedicated her career to Barnsley hospital where she works in Children’s outpatients as a paediatric phlebotomist and health care assistant . Her skills in phlebotomy are the best I have ever seen and added to this her kindness and empathy makes every child and their family feel at ease and safe in her hands . In recognition of Julie’s outstanding dedication for her job and encouragement to continue her fight our team have renamed the blood room “Jules room “ I hope to raise money to purchase decorations and distraction items to use in Jules room , my wish would be to make her room as welcoming and as special as her so that when she returns she will know how loved and appreciated she is .
