Kitty Lindley is raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity

Great North Run 2026 · 13 September 2026 ·

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we’re moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. A cure really can’t wait

Story

Hi everyone!!

This year, Peter, George and Kitty are taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity and awareness about brain cancer.

On 16th October 2024, scans revealed a tennis ball sized brain tumour growing in Peter’s head. Straight away, doctors cracked his head “open like a coconut” to get what they could of this tumour out.

4 days later, Peter was diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumour - there is currently no cure for this.

This wasn’t on his bingo card!

BUT…if you know Peter, you know he’s not one to feel sorry for himself! His infectious zest for life, along with his average sense of humour (lolz) has helped us all stay as positive as possible.

Prognosis for this form of cancer is 12-18 months, but 23 months on from diagnosis, Peter is planning on running a half marathon with George and Kitty - pretty good going eh??

Only 1% of the governments cancer research spending goes to brain cancers, despite brain tumours killing more children and adults under the age of 40, than any other cancer. This a heartbreaking statistic.

If you have a spare few quid and would like to donate to this incredible cause, it would mean the world to us.

Thank you,

Peter, Steph, George and Kitty xxxx
