On 6th August 2026, I’ll be taking on L’Étape du Tour de France Femmes - a 120km route with over 3,000m of climbing. It all ends with the legendary ascent of Mont Ventoux from Bédoin — 15.7km at an unforgiving 8.8%. Over 20 kilometres of relentless gradients, scorching heat, and that final barren stretch where the wind shows no mercy. It’s a challenge you don’t just turn up for — you prepare, you commit, and you respect it.

It’s going to be tough. Long climbs, tired legs, and moments where stopping will feel like the easiest option. However alongside me will be Graeme, my amazing domestique. He has always wanted to cycle Ventoux and madly last year I said I would cycle it with him. So we are very much in this together.

I’m doing it for another reason too.

Parkinson’s disease is very close to my heart.

It’s a condition that affects people every single day — not just those living with it, but their families too. It doesn’t stop, and it doesn’t get easier.

So when the ride gets tough, I’ll keep that in mind — and keep pedalling.
