Story
I am running the London Marathon 2027 for CoppaFeel!
After a very successful Trek with Gi earlier this year, I wanted to look for my next challenge and that is the London marathon!!
After having breast cancer myself I feel truly privileged to be fit and able enough to be able to take part in this event and raise funds for such an amazing charity.
As most of you know, I lost my mum to breast cancer when I was only 7 so being diagnosed when Ruaridh was the same age was a terrifying experience. I have recovered so well partly due to finding a lump early and having it checked. This is why the work of CoppaFeel! is something I feel so passionate about.
For those who do not know, here is a bit about the charity:
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest.
We educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves. We do this because when diagnosed early and accurately, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection truly can save lives.
