Story
Stepney has been amazing for Aimee. She has completely come out of her shell and grown in confidence. It’s been incredible to watch her find her passion in life and make lifelong friends. So I’m hoping to show a bit of appreciation to them and have decided to run the GNR to raise some funds for them and the great work they do with both children and horses.
Stepney Bank Stables is a registered charity using horses to engage with young people living in deprived urban areas of Newcastle upon Tyne. Horses are a fantastic medium for teaching kindness, commitment, resilience and responsibility. Being around horses helps young people to learn how to recognise and give consideration for another being's needs and emotions. Studies show that spending time with horses can reduce cortisol levels (stress hormone) in teenagers.
