Story
I've done this (almost 1000 mile) journey a couple of times now, and each time I've sworn that I'll never ever EVER do it again. Don't get me wrong - it's incredible. But it's also super tough, mentally and physically exhausting, and to be honest, I don't even like cycling all that much!
But then my sister-in-law Nicola, was diagnosed with neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer.
I really bloody love Nicola. and her diagnosis is devastating. All I want is to be able to make her well, but I can't. And because there's nothing I can do, I'm choosing to do this. By raising funds for Macmillan, I feel like I'm actually doing something- something for Nic and her family, who have already received invaluable support from Macmillan, and also for others living with cancer.
Please support my Ride Across Britain in any way you can - I'm older fatter, and grumpier than last time, but this one means more to me than any other.
Thank you so much for reading - I'll keep you updated on the journey from now, nearly March and being several stone overweight, to the September start line in Land's End, right to the finish line in John O Groats....
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe, JustGiving - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
