Story
I'm trekking up Kilimanjaro in September to raise money for Independence at Home. I'm on a 16 week training programme with runs, trips to the gym and lots of walking!
Independence at Home supports people in most need who are managing a long term illness or disability. It's a charity that means something significant to me as my mum was homebound having had a stroke, kidney failure and had become partially sighted. Her world reduced to a bedroom in the lounge and a radio. We had ramps and some adjustments made at home which made things a bit easier. It meant so much to my mum to be able to stay at home as long as possible. This charity helps people to do that.
Independence at Home make grants towards the purchase of mobility and disability equipment, home adaptations and other essential household items. Your donation will help us to continue providing immediate, practical and positive improvements to the mobility, safety, comfort, dignity and quality of life at home for individuals living in the UK. Thank you
