Story
As most of you know by now I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2023, I had a mastectomy and reconstruction in September and radiotherapy in November alongside starting on the dreaded tamoxifen.
This last year has flown by and I’ve now passed my diagnosis anniversary but I’m still very much trying to navigate my new normal. My body and mind don’t feel or work in the same way as they did pre cancer and this has impacted my life in more ways than I could ever express here in this small box.
Consequently my running has been a challenge at times when I’ve had fatigue or low mood and I seem to have told myself the story that I would never be able to run a marathon.
I’d like to show myself that I can still do hard things and that my body and mind are stronger than I realise.
I’ve chosen to run for Breast Cancer Now because they have been a huge support in my recovery from their useful information booklets, to their moving forward course, someone like me service and their younger women group. They really have helped me in my healing journey. Not to mention the crucial research they are doing into breast cancer. I am really proud to run for them and I hope I can make lots of money so they can continue to help other ladies like myself.
We know times are tough right now financially and not everyone will be able to donate but you can still support me by cheering me over over on my socials @brunotheminidachshund or @lindsayjanesanders or following me on strava!
Thank you so much for all of your support over the years, I’ve really felt the love and kindness every step of the way.
Lots of love,
Lindsay and Bru xxx
