Story
On the day of my 37th birthday, 10 months after having baby Mia, I'm going to run the Royal Parks Half marathon to raise money for MSF.
I've seen for myself the way that MSF is able to quickly get healthcare to those who need it in humanitarian emergencies. They work in complicated situations, in place that are difficult to access, where few other organisations are able to reach. They find creative ways to get around obstacles they face, and use their reputation to help them access people in crisis.
And it's really thanks to individual donors that MSF is able to do this, and importantly, that those funds are not directly affected by political changes and government budget cuts. This year has already been a difficult one for international development, with the cuts to USAID and UK aid, and the ongoing conflicts in several parts of the world.
So, the combination of my birthday, my return to running post-baby, and the world's situation and its huge need for MSF right now has inspired me to take on this challenge.
If you feel able to, I would love you to sponsor me to help MSF continue to do the vital work they do, and keep filling those ever-growing gaps.
