Every year, millions of girls and women fall victim to sex trafficking due to global patterns of human rights abuses, including sexual violence, family violence, and deeply rooted discriminatory beliefs. Out of the 6.3 million people trapped in forced commercial sexual exploitation, 4.9 million are girls or women.
