Story
On 23/04/2026, I will be lacing up my trainers and taking on the iconic London Marathon to raise vital funds for Pennine Care Charities. My motivation comes from a desire to make a direct and positive impact on the lives of adults and older people who are receiving care in mental health wards within our community.
Why Mental Health Matters
Mental health affects us all, and for those in hospital wards, the journey towards recovery can be especially challenging. Many of these wards provide essential, compassionate support for people experiencing severe mental health difficulties. However, there are often limited resources for activities and wellbeing initiatives that can make a real difference to daily life and recovery.
Our Special Goal
This year, some of the wards have a simple wish: a table tennis table. Table tennis isn’t just a game; it offers therapeutic benefits, encourages social interaction, physical activity, and provides a welcome break from the ward routine. It’s an inclusive activity that can be enjoyed by people of all abilities and ages.
How Your Support Helps
• Funds will go directly to Pennine Care Charities to support adult and older people’s mental health wards.
• Your donation could help purchase table tennis tables, equipment, and other wellbeing resources.
• Every pound raised will help create more engaging, supportive environments for patients.
Thank you so much for your support. Together, we can help bring joy and meaningful activities to adults and older people on mental health wards. Your generosity will go further than you think.
