This July, CoppaFeel! will set out on a challenging and life-changing trek, all in the name of checking chests! With Giovanna Fletcher at the helm, our fabulous Alumni trekkers will conquer 3 days of trekking in the breathtaking Iceland

Story

My one and only sister was diagnosed at 45 years old with metastatic breast cancer - this meant the breast cancer she had, had already spread to other areas of her body, liver & bones. This devastating diagnosis changed all our lives forever 💔 21 months of inspiring people, showing strength, hope and determination. Always trying to increase her knowledge by visiting groups and retreats so she was more aware herself but so she could help others and she did! Sadly she passed away peacefully with us by her side on October the 6th this year.

I applied for a 5 day trek last year to raise money and awareness for an amazing breast cancer charity. You lovely people helped me raise just over £6000. Let's do it again but make it even more epic in my sisters memory. I know she would be so proud of me. This trek sounds pretty tough but nothing compared to how this disease affects people and their families. Our lives will never be the same again but I absolutely know she would want me to live for the both of us and part of that is raising awareness and funds so if even one life is saved then we have made a difference.

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest.

We educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves. We do this because when diagnosed early and accurately, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection truly can save lives.
