Our vision is for every family supporting a child with a life threatening diagnosis to receive hands-on charitable support whilst in hospital. Our focus is practical, emotional, mental health and wellbeing support for children and their families.

Story

My 7 year old son Isaac, was diagnosed with portal carvernoma and portal hypertension last year. It is a condition that affects the liver and blood. It has been a stressful and upsetting time for us as a family to deal with.

Since the diagnosis, Isaac has had several short stays in both Glasgow and Leeds children’s hospitals, where he is looked after by a team of specialist liver doctors and nurses. Unfortunately, Isaac has had to endure several surgeries and a number of scans and tests to help treat and monitor his condition. Thankfully Isaac is doing well and is ok, but he does face further operations and more tests ahead of him to continue his treatment.

Last week after a stay on ward L50 in Leeds children’s hospital we came across the Millie Wright children‘s charity. While we were there, we read about them and all of the work they do for families just like ours. Every week they stock up the parent’s room with food and snacks and provide takeaway pizzas every Saturday night, to patients, families and staff on a few of the wards in the hospital too.

As a thank you, we decided we wanted to raise some money for them. So on the 30th April 2023 Isaac, armed with several members of his family are going to climb Cat bells!

Please help us do something positive and raise some money by donating what you can. It will be very much appreciated!
